In 2014, Alexandre Alonso decided to radically change his professional path and follow his passion for art and his dream to become a full-time self-taught visual artist.
The ambitious desire to transform and shape structures of the soul into large-scale portraits has become his objective, fascination and body of work.
After his debut exhibition in December 2014 ‘Three Man Show’, a 3 portrait sold-out solo show, and a large amount of commissions fulfilled during 2015 and 2016.
In the end of 2016 it was presented to the public a limited series of 20 oil on wood works representing a variety of eyes imprisoned within the limits of a very small work surface (15 x 15 cm).
They intended to explore the “profoundity” of the eyes as a generator of complex human emotions. All works sold out within 2 weeks belonging now to a vast array of collectors worldwide.
The need to engage and develop as an emerging artist, embracing new challenges and new markets, will culminate on a new body of work with 14 figurative-abstract paintings to present in the end of 2017, on a debut solo-show, while also working on a large number of commissions.
